It is 3 kilometres west of Marbella’s well known port, Puerto Banús and 8 kms away from the town of Marbella on the Costa del Sol.  They are in the province of Malaga, Southern Spain.  The NH hotel is in the town centre and is close to many restaurants, taxis, buses and shops.  The venue offers special accommodation rates for course attendees.  Please see accommodation further on in this document.

- Nearest airport - Malaga Airport- AGP

The main airport for San Pedro, Marbella and Malaga is Málaga Aeropuerto – Pablo Picasso- Costa del Sol (AGP).  You will find most airlines fly into Malaga AGP from all over the world.  Please note that prices quoted below for external services, such as transport, are only approximate and may vary each season.

-Travelling from the airport– Best option! - Pre-booked Shuttle Transfer Services:  There are various companies that organise private or bus shuttle and transfer services from Malaga airport.  Their prices depend on certain requirements. They can be a reasonably priced option (approximately €20 for the bus shuttle).  To book, go directly on to their websites.  They have different language options.

-Travelling from the airport by bus to Marbella and San Pedro (BUS DIRECTO Marbella):  http://portillo.avanzabus.com/  you come out of the main terminal exit, into the open air courtyard, there is a bus stop, which is opposite the exit and only a short distance away.  This is a direct bus/coach to Marbella Bus Station.  It takes 45 minutes and costs around €8.   You have to buy the ticket at the bus kiosk, at the courtyard just near the exit door.  If the kiosk is closed, you can get on the bus and pay the bus driver, who will only accept Euros in cash and small notes (20’s and under).  Buses run until approximately 22:30pm.  Once, at Marbella Bus Station you will need to catch another bus to San Pedro.  This could be the L78 (Marbella -San Mateo) or L79 (Marbella-Estepona line).  Get off at San Pedro’s main bus stop (the driver normally shouts it out!), which is at the main park/boulevard (Bulevar San Pedro) roundabout with a fountain and distinguishable bridge walkway.  The NH Hotel is north of the roundabout (towards the mountain-side).  Walk up the main street (Calle Marques del Duero) towards the town centre.  Alternatively, you can take a taxi from Marbella Bus Station to San Pedro, which will cost about €18.

-Travelling from the airport by train and then bus:  There are 2 options; from the airport take the train (Tren de Cercanias) to the town of Fuengirola (half way distance to San Pedro) or to Malaga Centre (both around €1.80).  Trains depart frequently.  Once in Fuengirola or Malaga Centre, come out of the Train Station and go to the Bus Station, which is in the next street in both cases.  From Fuengirola and/or Malaga there are many buses that stop in San Pedro (price around €8).  The main bus stop in San Pedro is on the Boulevard.  Due to overlapping timetables, this can be a slightly longer option.

-Directly by taxi from the airport taxi rank (expensive option):  There are plenty of taxis from the airport.  The price is according to the time of day.  The approximate price to San Pedro is quite expensive at €100 and €120 in the evening.  You may be asked if you wish to pay an extra €9 for toll charges. This route goes via the motorway as it is much quicker.

-By private car hire:  Malaga has many hire car companies offering amazing deals on car hire.  Many flight companies also offer car rental at very competitive prices.  If you are booking a rental car online, DON’T take out the online insurance, as when you arrive in Spain, you will have to take out the company’s Spanish insurance, regardless of what you have already booked.  It is very difficult to get back the online insurance.

-Driving from Malaga (airport) to San Pedro and Marbella.

The drive from Malaga airport to Marbella and San Pedro is very straightforward.   As you leave Malaga Airport, always take roads indicate E-15/AP-7 Algeciras.  Once on this road, keep on it.
